Burleson Patriots

Previously I mentioned that in my family we remember Edward Croft and his brother Daniel on Memorial Day.  While researching my connections to the Burleson family, I recently discovered additional Patriots in the family tree who died in service to our nation.

Thanks to the work of my sister-in-law Heather Tremko, a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, I had previously known that I am a direct descendant of the Revolutionary War veteran David Burleson.  What I just learned, however, was that David Burleson's father and uncles also fought in the Revolutionary War.

David's grandfather Aaron Burleson came to America in the early eighteenth century and had many children.  Aaron's sons fought in the Revolutionary War and most of them died for the cause, including David's father.  I now have an expanded list of names and stories to share with my family on Memorial Day.
